Pocket RCT Packages

Our RCT/computer packages are designed for those who don't want to purchase separate software and hardware to run RCT, but want everything in one simple package. These are complete packages, all the hardware and software you need assembled in one simple package by the folks who know RCT best!

Package features:

1. RCT or Pocket RCT software (full and latest version), on memory card or CD, printed manual, DVD video, CyberFork etc....

2. RCT Ten Styles Tuning Library of 2000 recorded piano tunings (normally $100 extra)

3. Pocket PC device with AC adapter. Each machine is "burned in" and fully checked out. Machine is brand new or fully refurbished, see below.

4. HP Companion CD and charging/sync cradle or cable.

5. Pocket RCT packages include our specialized CyberStand Pocket PC tuning stand, (normally $95 including a standard tuning tip installed.

6. Pocket PC packages have all day tuning lithium battery (at least), battery is user replaceable (takes less than 30 seconds on most models).

7. All packages include a versatile AC adapter, works virtually anywhere in the world, AC 100~240 volts, 50/60 hz. We can supply HP original AC adapters for US, AU, EU, UK, your choice.

8. Hardware warranty: All packages have a one (1) year, see below.

iPAQ AC adapters

All Pocket PC handheld computers have built-in contact management software, schedule, Pocket Word, Excel spreadsheet, on-screen keyboard and handwriting recognition and much more. The HP iPAQ batteries last all day tuning (or more for most tuners).

RCT package student discount of $50 on any package. This discount is available ONLY to NBSS, Randy Potter, UWO, and CSPT students. (student discount is $100 on RCT software-only purchases).

Specials and recent changes!

1. We've added a new model and package, the "Neptune" package which includes an HP iPAQ hx4700 series machine. This is a fantastic machine with a super high-resolution VGA (640x480) large 4.0" screen, magnesium alloy case, trackpad and more.

2. For a limited time, while supplies last any package can be supplied with an Automobile 12 volt DC Charger (must mention this special when ordering - promo code: DCAUTO).

3. We have a small number of the primo HP iPAQ hx2700 series. This machine is a speedy 624mhz, has extra features such as thumbprint security. It can be included as a FREE upgrade in the Mercury 2 package on request (promo code: 2700).

Recommendations: We recommend the Mercury 2 and Neptune as the best all around value. The HP iPAQs are the most reliable and compatible Pocket PC machines for running Pocket RCT.

Neptune package: $1495

Hardware: HP iPAQ hx4700 series 128mb memory or more (space for at least 200,000 recorded tunings), 624 mhz cpu, 4.0" hi-res VGA screen (4 times the resolution of other models we carry), Magnesium alloy body, 1800mah battery (the largest we carry) CF and SD memory card slots built in, Bluetooth and WiFi. Pocket PC weighs about 6-7 ounces. Sync cradle, HP Companion CD included. Includes our CyberStand Pocket PC tuning stand and RCT Ten Styles library.

Jupiter package $1495

HP iPAQ 111, 64mb ram, (space for about 100k recorded tunings), 624 mhz cpu, 3.5" screen, sync cable, HP Companion CD, SD card slot, Bluetooth and WiFi, Pocket PC weighs 5 ounces. Includes our CyberStand Pocket PC tuning stand and RCT Ten Styles library.

Mercury 2 package: $1395

Hardware: HP iPAQ hx2400 series or better, 128mb memory or more (space for at least 200,000 recorded tunings), 520 mhz cpu, 3.5" screen, CF and SD memory card slots built in, Bluetooth and WiFi, Pocket PC weighs about 5-7 ounces. FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) about the complete Pocket RCT/hardware packages

Are the packages a better deal than getting the RCT software from you and purchasing my own hardware?

The packages will certainly save you quite a bit of time, but if you're a very good shopper you may be able to save a little money by putting your own package together. Also please remember, our refurbished machines have a full one year guarantee, and we don't charge sales tax unless we ship to the state of Michigan, USA. Shipping for the whole package is $30 for Fedex 3-day in the USA.

Is everything completely setup, do I have to install or calibrate anything?

Our packages are ready to tune pianos when they come out of the box. When you purchase any package we install and activate the RCT software, and calibrate the Pocket PC to A440 for you. This wouldn't be hard to do yourself but it does take some manual reading and a little time.

What does "refurbished" mean? Are these new or used machines? Who covers the warranty?

Our package machines are fully refurbished by our own expert technicians. We believe the refurbished machines are functionally as good as brand new units. All our machines (new or refurbished) have several hours of running time on them so they are "burned in". Pocket PC devices are quite reliable, but if they ever fail it's usually during the first few hours of use. Ours are past that danger period making them the most reliable Pocket PC you can buy (in our unbiased opinion ;). Our refurbished Pocket PC hardware looks very nice and works like new. Even the brand new machines we unpack, install Pocket RCT and run for period to make sure the machine is working perfectly. We believe you're better off with a machine that has been run for a few hours and then carefully rechecked by a Pocket PC expert.

*Refurbished machine warranty is covered by Reyburn Piano Service, Inc. New machines warranties are covered by the maker, Hewlett-Packard.
*Perfect working condition means all software and hardware features work as they did when the unit was brand new. All machines have Windows Mobile
*Good cosmetic condition machines may have small to medium scratches or dents on case, but nothing that affects function.

Do I get a full version of the Pocket RCT software? Is there a backup copy?

Yes to both! The full and latest version is installed, and a backup copy is included on a memory card. Pocket RCT updates are always free for at least one year from date of original purchase and can be downloaded from our web site at any time, 24 hours a day.

How much ram does RCT take? Is there room for the built in schedule and contact manager?

Pocket RCT and the RCT Ten Styles Library takes only about 3mb of space leaving 90% to 95% of the storage space for other uses. Most Pocket RCT users use their Pocket PC for keeping track of their clients and pianos, driving directions, schedule etc....

What is the "RCT Ten Styles Tuning Library"?

The included "RCT Ten Styles Tuning Library" is a database with 200 common piano models, each recorded and pre-calculated. Each piano model is calculated with 10 different tuning styles making 2000 tuning records. This is very useful for pitch raising (when it may be difficult or a waste of time to record the piano) and for final tuning when there isn't enough to record the piano with Chameleon. (normally $100)

Who do I call for support for ActiveSync? For the Pocket PC device or OS?

ActiveSync is not needed for Windows Vista or Windows 7. If you have Windows XP or older, the Pocket PC maker (for example Hewlett-Packard) covers support for ActiveSync. HP has a toll free number in the USA and most countries. They have excellent support. For any other question on the Pocket PC hardware or OS you can call either RPS, Inc. or the maker, it is your choice. We know these machines well and are happy to help you with almost any question, but on occasion we may refer you to the maker's toll free number if we can't solve the issue right away.

Can you ship the packages outside of the USA?

Hewlett-Packard iPAQs can be shipped to most countries but warranty and support may differ in some countries. Check with the local HP representative about this issue. We are happy to ship our packages most anywhere (all but Jupiter are RPS, Inc. refurbished machines) however refurbished machines must be sent back to RPS, Inc. in the USA for warranty repair. We do not cover shipping outside USA or Canada. The AC adapters will work with any voltage in Europe, Australia and Japan. We normally include an adapter to match your country's AC plugs.

Can you deduct a specific item I don't want from the package for credit? Can I order a different model Pocket PC?

The packages include each item for good reason, and are meant as a complete solution. Rather than modify the packages, we suggest purchasing the Pocket RCT software separately and putting your own package together. Pocket RCT comes on a memory card and is very simple to install and calibrate on your own machine.
